The North American Snow Festival has been a part of Cadillac history since 1984. In it’s humble beginnings it started as a two weekend festival between Traverse City & Cadillac. At it’s peak, it was a premier Snowmobile festival of the Midwest!

Even with all the new changes this year, the 33rd annual NASF will still feature many signature events from the past. The weekend will begin with the always popular chili cook-off followed by the Miss NASF pageant. Snowmobile Drag races will be held in Boon, MI again this year located off the busy snowmobile trails just outside of Cadillac.

Other fan favorite events returning this year include: OASIS Polar Dip, Fun Run, Fishing Tournament, Snow Sculpture Contest, Antique Snowmobile Show, & much much more! See schedule below for details…

Great American Chili Cook-Off with WTCM LIVE!

Presented by WTCM & Cadillac Area Silent Observer.
The official “kickoff” event to the NASF every year, the competition pits area restaurants against each other in the quest for the perfect bowl of chili. Using a secret system, the entries are all identified by letter. Our Silent Observer volunteers serve it up to YOU the judges. WTCM will be onsite with a Live Remote. The winner is the entry who receives the most votes. Anyone with a NASF button is encouraged to participate, but get there early, because the chili doesn’t last long! The winner receives the traveling trophy and bragging rights for 2017.
*Registration limited to the first 12 restaurants!

A Cadillac-based youth ensamble brass band comprised of drums, sousaphone, trumpet, trombone, tenor sax and bari sax. They play their own arrangements of pop tunes, traditional jazz tunes and tunes from Youngblood Brass Band and Lucky Chops.

Activities Include: Silent Disco Preview, Kids Game Zone, Arm Wrestling Demos, Chainsaw Wood Carving, Antique and Vintage Sled displays, Drone Demonstrations, BBQ, Paella and Wood Fired Food Trucks, and full custom bar with non-alcoholic options. Also look for City-wide Afterparties – Times & Locations TBA!

Bragging rights, trophies and prize money will be awarded to the winners of these two big events!

Thursday Homegrown Local Talent! The band focuses on dance tunes from the Motown & Blues genres, with some classic rock hits mixed in.

Reigning 2016 Queen of the Miss Cadillac NASF, Malorie Bosscher, has completed her year-long reign as Miss NASF and is now ready to pass on the right to a new 2017 Queen. The Miss NASF Pageant winner will participate in various community events throughout the year and will also be playing a crucial role in working with the next year’s (2018) pageant contestants.
Contestants will be judged on (4) categories; casual wear, winter wear, evening wear and a question by one of our judges. The winner will receive 12 college credit hours donated from Baker College of Cadillac, with the first runner-up receiving 6 college credit hours (can be used on-campus or online). Additional prizes are yet to be determined. Every contestant will receive a gift for participating!

Snow Drags Test & Tune

Brought to you by Zephyr Racing, our annual Snowmobile drag racing will be held in the town of Boon, Michigan again this year - about 7 miles West of Cadillac. This will be a SNOW drag racing event with four lanes 24’ wide for a distance of 500’ with timers.
The track will be open from 10am to 5pm on Friday for Test & Tune and from 10am to 3pm Saturday for racing “Grudge Match Style”. For the Grudge Matches you are just buying track time, race who you want when you want. The cost for track time is $20 per snowmobile and that gets you as many laps as you want.
At 3pm on Saturday we will have the Cadillac Snowmobile Shootout featuring two classes: 1st All Motor class 2nd Unlimited class. The cost to enter these classes will be $100 Dollars with the winner in each class taking 100% of all cash money collected from entries in that class!
*A NASF button to required for both spectators & racers to attend the snowmobile drag races!

Winter Warriors Snow Fun Run

Hosted by the Cadillac Winter Warriors; Sponsored by Dave's Yamaha & Suzuki.
Feeling lucky and ready to ride? Join in the fun run! You need just a NASF button to participate and you don’t even have to own a snowmobile. Start at one of the designated registration points (see below) before 2pm on Friday, buy a card for $5 each (or several) and you’re ready to roll. Hit any of the other 20 stops, by car or by sled, collecting cards along the way. You can make as many stops as you want.
Check in at the main gate at Cadillac Commons from 6-8pm, exchange the cards to get a max. of 8 playing cards and make your best possible poker hand. Lots of prizes will be awarded for best 5-card poker hands. Must be present to win!
Register at one of the OFFICIAL points to receive your card before you begin. List of stops coming soon!

Vintage Snowmobile Show

LOCATION: LAKE STREET
Hosted by the Moose Nelsen Family - Join us on Lake St., Downtown at The Cadillac Commons to see the best in classic sleds! From the ugliest sled to the most miles traveled, the “oldies but goodies” will be awarded during the Antique and Vintage Snowmobile show. The antique sleds date back to 1968 and before. The vintage category includes snowmobiles from 1969-1974.
Judges will vote in several classes including: - Best of show - Antique original (1968 and older) - Antique restored - Vintage original (1969-1974) - Vintage restored - Classic (1975-1981 leaf spring) - Custom (home built or modified up to 1981) - Best race sled (factory original up to 1981) - Twin track - Sled and sleigh combo (sled with cutter) - Best mini sled (factory original up to 1981) - Ugliest sled (must run and operate safely) - Oldest participant - Farthest traveled (most miles to show) - Largest display (most sleds entered) - Best vintage display (with nostalgia and memorabilia in mind). - Non-current (1982-1995) - Homegrown racer (not original up to 1981) - Rear engine sled
Participants may register as early as 8am that morning and spectators will need an NASF raffle button.
Trophies will be awarded from 12pm to 1pm for all categories, and collectors can bring any of their spare parts for a swap meet.

Not for the faint of heart, but brave souls can bear it all for a great cause! A tradition embraced by NASF, the Polar dip involves cutting a hole in the ice, and sending jumpers into the freezing cold waters. Some participants choose to get sponsors to help raise money - so take the plunge for a good cause! Dipper and sponsorship opportunities are available now.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent, and all participants and spectators must have an NASF button (button is NOT included in the entry fee).
Register at the OASIS office or on-site the day of, the cost is $25 per jumper.

We will have $2,500 in prizes to give away to our winners including 5 portable fishing shanties!
There are five competitive categories: Northern Pike, Walleye, Bluegill, Crappie and Perch. All fish must be caught them in either Lakes Cadillac or Mitchell the day of the tournament and then be brought back to the weigh-in BEFORE 3:30 in order to qualify!
A representative from the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center will be the official weigher (and judge whether each fish was fresh-caught from Lake Cadillac or Mitchell).

Gopherwood Concerts joins the North American Snow Festival (NASF) to present Cadillac's own Lake Effect. They are a family roots band from northern Michigan that has been delighting audiences near and far for nearly 30 years. With their tight family harmonies, hilarious original songs, traditional music, and deep understanding of how to engage audiences of all ages Lake Effect is a perfect storm for family fun with music.
This concert is designed for families with "Little" children 7 and under, but feel free to bring your entire family. An NASF button will be required for all who attend, but there is no other fee for admission.

Kiddie Kat Youth Snowmobile Races

Younger riders aren’t left out at the NASF! They have their own oval course to ride. The smallest sledders go head to head Sponsored by the Cadillac Winter Warriors Snowmobile Club the youth races will take place at the Evergreen Resort in Cadillac, MI.
We will have Kitty Kats, then age classes of 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, & 11-12 year olds for Stock and Modified and one Super modified group.
Entry fee is $15.00.
